Brainerd, Howard and Cleveland advance to state - East Hamilton loses heartbreaker

    The Brainerd Panthers found out quickly Monday night that York Institute was for real.

    The Panthers were in a dogfight and prevailed 49-46 to advance to the state tournament next week in Murfreesboro.

    Lederron Freeman led the Panthers with 17 points.

    Meanwhile, the Howard Hustlin' Tigers also punched their ticket to the state tourney.

    The Tigers did so by topping Watertown 64-56 on the road.

    In Cleveland, the Blue Raiders march on with a 49042 victory over Blackman.

    Jacobi Wood set the pace for Cleveland with a game high 16 points.

    The state draw for the tournament happens Tuesday.
