Gordon Lee High School wins top fishing honors in NW Georgia
DALTON, Ga. —
Many high school students in north Georgia really know how to hook them.
Fish, that is.
The Northwest Georgia High School Anglers Association held an awards banquet Tuesday night in Dalton.
The "catch" was impressive.
17 high schools were represented and a total of 256 anglers, 132 teams and 18 coaches on hand.
A total of $6,000 worth of prizes went to students and boat captains and more than $9,500 in college scholarships.
Gordon Lee High School took home top honors as it won the School Cup for the Year.
A pair of anglers from Gordon Lee also proved to be the Team of the Year.
Colby Chapman and Will Smith took home that honor.
