Our Top Matchup features two of the top 10 in Division II.

McCallie hosts #1 Brentwood Academy Friday night.

Number one against the #7 Blue Tornado.

McCallie coach Ralph Potter argues Division II is the toughest league in the state.

Make no mistake, you'll see a lot of talent on the field.

Two Vanderbilt commits drive the Brentwood Academy offense.

Behind center, Gavin Schoenwald.

He's a big quarterback, who will likely play tight end for the Commodores. McCallie coach Ralph Potter said, "But he's doing well at quarterback for them. He's a big guy and can run the ball a little bit. He's pretty physical. He's got a good strong arm. "

One of his favorite targets is Camron Johnson, who is also committed to Vandy.

Potter noted, "He's really a four year starter for them. Gotta lot of experience, really good player."

But McCallie also brings a considerable amount of talent to the field.

Their only division loss this season was to Montgomery Bell Academy.

The Tornado defense has shown promise this season. "We're a little bit older back over there. A little bit better. I think our defensive line has performed really well. Jorden Starling has done well," Potter said.

Linebacker Adams Robinson is back.

He's recovered from an injury a couple of weeks ago.

Fellow linebacker Jay Gibson has been solid all year.

On offense, sophomore DeAngelo Hardy leads the charge.

Hardy and his coach say he's getting more comfortable as a passer. Hardy said, "I worked on it all summer. I be crisp in the summer, in 7-on7's and all that. It's just a point of putting it on the field, like relaxing."

His coach said he's improving with time. "It's just a matter of experience and playing. I mean you get a sense of what to do and when to do it, that you can't really get in practice. You have to get it in games. And then, you know, he's improving throwing the football."

The Blue Tornado know how crucial this game is. Potter doesn't downplay it, "I think whoever wins this thing is going to be who's playing best in November. Hopefully, we can get a little bit better. "

Hardy's ready for it. "Lock in, focus. Let's have a great week of practice and let's get after it Friday. "
