Tyner Ram Train hopes to keep rolling through playoffs

The Tyner Rams lost their first game of the season. They haven't lost since. The Rams hope to keep the Train rolling against Trousdale County in the second round of the playoffs Friday night.

The Tyner Ram train is rolling.

The Rams have rolled off 10 straight wins.

Trousdale County, a physical team, meets them in the second round of the playoffs Friday night.

Coach Wayne Turner believes he has his team's attention.

Quarterback Martavius Ryals to wide receiver Jeremiah Batiste. Call it the junior connection.

It has been the bread and butter for the Tyner Rams offense.

Coach Wayne Turner plans on using it and some inside running against Trousdale County.

Turner said, "We're going to hit 'em in between the tackles with some power and we're going to try and get outside on 'em with some motion and stuff like that to try to open something up on the outside and try to use our speed a little bit to our advantage."

Urgency takes first priority for coach Turner.

He said his team has been sporadic throughout the season. "We've had spurts where we play well and spurts where we play ugly and bad. They're going to have to listen to me this week or we're going to be sitting at home next week."

As far as Trousdale goes, Turner expects a physical and feisty bunch.

He said their defense compares to Ooltewah's -- the only team to beat the Rams this year. "They (Trousdale) pursue well defensively, they're well coached and they're going to be aggressive and hostile I guess."

Remember last season the Ram Train made it all the way to the state championship, losing a heartbreaker in double overtime to Union City.

Coach Turner has stressed to his team the importance of nothing being promised beyond Friday night. "I've been preaching to ';em ever since probably the seventh, eighth game of the seaon that we got a storm coming in here, second and third rounds when we play and not only that if we get that far, we've got another storm on the fourth round."
