UPDATE: TBI identifies female inmate who died at Bradley County Jail Monday
CLEVELAND, Tenn. —
The Bradley County Sheriff's Office (BCSO) says an investigation is underway after an inmate died at the jail Monday afternoon.
BCSO spokesman Brian Graves issued a statement saying the inmate was found unresponsive inside a cell earlier in the afternoon.
The Tennessee Bureau of Investigation (TBI) have identified her as 54-year-old Fawn Zanette Branham.
According to Graves, correctional officers and on-site medical staff called for emergency assistance and began performing life-saving measures. Bradley County EMS arrived shortly after, and Branham was pronounced dead.
Graves says that per agency protocol, the 10th Judicial DA’s Office was immediately notified, which led the TBI to begin their investigation.
The TBI says an autopsy is pending, and the investigation is ongoing.
