Man saves wife from falling tree in Rhea County
EVENSVILLE, Tenn. —
A couple in Rhea County, Tennessee are thankful they got out of the way in time of a toppling tree right outside their home in Evensville.
The incident happened Monday night at the newlywed couple's home on Back Valley Road.
Trey and Natalie Jordan were sitting on the porch, watching the rain and winds from the leftovers of Hurricane Irma.
That's when a 90-foot tree started tumbling right in their direction.
Trey was able to put Natalie in a bear hug and move out of the way, just in time.
But there problems didn't end there: the tree also toppled several live power lines.
Fortunately, the couple managed to get to safety. Several people were inside the home at the time the tree fell, but they weren't seriously hurt.
The tree caused massive damage to the home.
