Cleveland, TN family remembers father killed while changing tire
Family members have announced funeral arrangements for Richard Lamneck.
His funeral will be held at Companion Funeral Home, at 2415 Georgetown Road NW in Cleveland, on Sunday, November 18th from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m.
In lieu of flowers, the family is asking for donations in Christopher's and Evan's names.
A Cleveland dad who had just returned from helping hurricane victims was hit and killed while changing a flat tire on the side of the road.
Richard Lamneck's family is grieving, and wants you to remember this story when you're behind the wheel.
Cars casually pass the spot on Apison Pike where Lamneck died Tuesday evening.
Meanwhile, his sons are home from school, mourning the loss of their father and remembering the good times.
"This summer we went on a cruise," says Evan Lamneck. "We finally convinced him to go on a trip."
Luz Price is the mother of Richard's two sons. She is his ex-wife.
She says being nice just came naturally to Rick.
"I don't think there was any mean in him... Just an all around good guy," says Price.
Many knew him as Dr. Rick.
He owned a tree service, a business his son still aspires to be a part of when he grows up.
"It just seems cool. He got really muscular from it," says Evan.
Rick had just returned from helping people hit by Hurricane Michael. Price says she's always worried.
"He's very risky. He's always been risky."
But she never thought he'd go like this.
Tonight, it's bothering her that something is missing here.
"My understanding is that there were no brake marks," says Price.
We asked the Hamilton County Sheriff's Office if any charges will be filed in this case.
A spokesperson says it's all still under investigation.
Price says even though she doesn't know what exactly happened, this is a good reminder to drivers to always be focused and on the look out.
The family says Rick's brother will be coming to help the family with funeral arrangements.
When we get them, we will post them here.
