CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. — Like many people around the world, Chattanoogans put on a protest through a candlelight vigil to raise awareness for climate change.
Protestors gathered at the Holmberg Bridge where they lit their candles and sang songs.
They sang classic songs like "This Little Light of Mine" and "Simple Gifts" but changed some lyrics to talk about ways to fight climate change.
The event was put on by Tennessee Interfaith Power and Light and was organized by Sandy Kurtz.
"Tennessee interfaith power and light is devoted to the idea that we can bring a moral perspective to climate change actions and deliberations," Kurtz said.
Kurtz also said that specifically in Chattanooga, she would like to see public health problems connected to climate change addressed among other issues.
