On Wednesday, the Hamilton County Sheriff's Office (HCSO) says detectives with the Hamilton County Sheriff’s Office have been actively pursuing leads since the initial missing persons report was filed by Eaton's wife earlier this week. The HCSO says this investigation has concluded that John Eaton is not a victim of a crime nor is he believed to be in danger.

Detectives say they reached this conclusion after viewing security video from area businesses showing John Eaton conducting routine activities during the time frame he was reported missing.

Due to the determination that John Eaton is not endangered and no evidence of criminal activity, this case has been closed by the HCSO.

A 2nd Grade teacher at Chattanooga School for the Arts and Sciences (CSAS) has been reported missing.

According to his wife Melissa, John Eaton left their house to go to CSAS around 5:45pm Sunday afternoon to do his weekly preparation for the school week.

Melissa says he never came home.

Melissa says that CSAS checked their surveillance cameras, but Eaton did not show up to the school Sunday afternoon.

This is his second year teaching at CSAS.

A search party will meet up at the CSAS parking lot at 9:30 Tuesday morning to look for Eaton.

If you have seen Eaton or have any information about where he is, please call the Hamilton County Sheriff's Office at 423-209-7000.
