2 killed, 1 hurt in Cumberland County school bus garage shooting

Two people have been killed and one injured following a shooting at a Cumberland County school bus garage Friday afternoon.

At 2:27 p.m. CST, dispatchers received reports of shots fired at the garage on Genesis Rd. in Crossville.

Once officers arrived on the scene, they reported finding three people with gunshot wounds in between two school buses. One woman died at the scene. One man was transported by EMS to Cumberland Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead. Another man has been flown to Erlanger Health System in Chattanooga.


Crossville Police believe the shooter was among the three people at the scene. The Tennessee Bureau of Investigation said a woman and a man were shot by a man, who then turned his gun on himself.

The Tennessee Bureau of Investigation said there is no reason to believe there is a gunman on the run. Agents said the suspected gunman is undergoing treatment at Erlanger.

Authorities are still working to identify the victims.

The Cumberland County DA has requested the TBI's assistance gathering evidence in the investigation.
