Alana LaFlore joined the NewsChannel 9 team as multimedia journalist in February, 2016.
She's originally from Syracuse, New York, where she worked at Time Warner Cable News. It was the area's only local 24-hour cable news network. Before that, she spent more than a year at Time Warner Cable News's Utica, NY bureau.
She attended Syracuse University's S.I. Newhouse School of Public Communications, where she earned a Master of Science in Broadcast and Digital Journalism. She has a B.A. from Marist College in Public Relations and Radio/TV/Film.
While earning her degrees, Alana interned at several news and media companies in Atlanta, New York City, Syracuse and London.
Throughout her career, she has covered a wide range of topics, everything from the Baseball Hall of Fame induction in Cooperstown to a controversial lawsuit between city and county government and a tornado that left an infant dead. Alana pursued a career in reporting because it allows her to do what she loves; being creative and telling stories.
Alana is excited to try out southern living and explore Chattanooga! If you have any story ideas, email her at firstname.lastname@example.org. You can find her on Instagram and Snapchat at: Alana_News.
