Six McCallie student-athletes sign on with colleges and a military academy
CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. —
Six McCallie student athletes will continue their passions at the collegiate level.
The school held a signing ceremony for all six young men Wednesday morning.
Joshua Gable will join the lightweight rowing team with the U.S. Naval Academy.
Gable wants to be a helicopter pilot.
Jackson Moore also signed a letter of intent with Florida Tech to be on its rowing team.
Mac Patton is staying home and will cheer for the UTC Mocs.
Shalin Naik travels just up the road to Nashville to row with Vanderbilt. while Bailey Nelson will move to the northeast to row for Boston University.
Finally, Noah Cingilli continues his soccer career.
He fought injuries and illness at McCallie, but showed resilience.
His coach referred to him as a connector. Christopher Cushenbery noted, "But for our program, we have a great senior calss. But sophomore year, they didn't have the connectivity as a group. They weren't friends in a way that needed to happen. When Noah came here, he brought all these guys together relationally and culturally in a way that strengthened that group, that made everybody around him better."
