Arch rivals GPS and Baylor met Thursday in the winner's bracket game at Spring Fling.

The Bruisers topped the Lady Red Raiders 7-1 and advance to the Division II-AA state championship game.

In AAA softball action, Ooltewah lost a 3-1 heartbreaker to Henry County. The loss ended the Lady Owls season.

Meigs County bounced back from its Wednesday night loss, with an 11-3 toppling of Scotts Hill in class A play.

Meigs played in a later game Thursday and beat Jackson Christian 7-1. The Lady Tigers will play in the final day on Friday.

In AA action, Chattanooga Central provided one of the most dramatic games, beating Greenbrier 2-1 in 13 innings.

But the Lady Pounders had to play about 30 minutes later in its second Thursday game.

Fatigue may have been a factor. The Pounders lost 13-1 to CAK.

McCallie's baseball team made it to the championship game against Brentwood Academy.

The Blue Tornado jumped out 1-0 in the bottom of the first. Brentwood Academy answered with four runs in the second inning. McCallie would reclaim the lead, but BA takes the state championship with a 6-5 victory.

In track and field, Signal Mountain's Camryn Bowman won discus with a 133 feet throw.

CSAS's Lennex Walker won the long jump and triple jump.
