Vols' Shy Tuttle making progress in rehabilitation
KNOXVILLE, Tenn. —
The Vols were dealt a blow late last week when they learned offensive lineman Chance Hall would be out for the season.
Much better news followed on the other side of the ball.
Coach Butch Jones says Shy Tuttle is making progress.
Tuttle is working his way into the conversation with his perseverance on the rehabilitation trail.
Jones described the outlook, "Shy's continuing to progress. He's working individual drills, he's not done any team activities yet, but very encouraged what we've seen so far. I would say he's maybe a little bit ahead of schedule, you can see him getting better and better each day with his movement. That's extremely encouraging. He's work very hard and you can see the excitement in his demeanor."
He was in full pads with his teammates Friday, working in individual drills with the defensive front.
The former premier prospect suffered a brokien fibula and a torn ACL in back-to-back seasons.
Excitement is mounting over his approaching return.
Fellow defensive lineman Kendal Vickers weighed in on the matter. Vickers said, "Shy's looking great. Looks like he's getting back in football shape and like he can move on his knee. Looking forward to getting him out there."
