Georgia governor Nathan Deal proclaims January 5th to be "UGA Football Friday"
ATLANTA, Ga. —
Ahead of Monday's national championship, Georgia governor Nathan Deal is putting his team fandom on display - and asking others to do the same - for "UGA Football Friday."
Governor Deal tweeted Thursday afternoon that he's "keeping the main thing the main thing."
Later, he tweeted pictures of himself and staff members sporting Georgia jerseys, along with the proclamation that this Friday, January 5th, is "UGA Football Friday."
"I encourage fans far and wide to represent [Georgia football] tomorrow by wearing read and black," says Deal.
The Atlanta Journal-Constitution reported Wednesday that President Trump and First Lady Melania Trump plan to attend Monday's game in Atlanta.
