Video: Rescuers save drowning elephant from ocean current
Members of Sri Lanka's navy collaborated to save a drowning elephant from an ocean current Tuesday.
In an effort by multiple boats, a team of divers and Department of Wildlife officials, the rescuers were able to haul the animal -- discovered flailing eight miles off the Sri Lankan coast -- to safety.
Footage captured of the event shows the rescuers using ropes tied around the elephant to guide it to dry land.
After its rescue, the elephant was handed over to wildlife officials.
