Watch: Texas firefighters rescue man, children from vehicle stalled on flooded road

On Monday, Amarillo experienced major flooding on roadways after a downpour of rain over the City.

After water rescues began taking place, Amarillo police urged residents to stay indoors if they could after hearing reports of flooding in several areas.

Some of the major roads that were flooded included Western Street, Ross-Osage, Washington Street, Coulter Street and Hollywood Road.

One man witnessed Amarillo Fire Department firefighters working to rescue a man and children from a vehicle that seemed to have been stalled in high water on Western Street near 45th Avenue.

The rescue happened just before 2 p.m. and was caught on camera by Bryson Lassiter.
