Chattanooga Police say three people were hurt after an accident on East 29th Street early Friday morning near the Bachman Tunnel.

Police say a Kia Optima was traveling east on Ringgold Road when it came through the Bachman Tunnels and to a roundabout. It then bounced off the roundabout, over a guard rail, and then down a 50 yard embankment.

Police say the front passenger was transported in critical condition. The driver and rear passenger were transported for minor injuries.

Bachman Tunnel was closed for a couple hours at Westside Drive and East 29th Street. It reopened shortly before 7 a.m.

Brandon Evans reports several people were taken to the hospital. We're working to find out how many, and the extent of their injuries.

Crews used a cable to get the car up off the cliff.
