Patrick's father, Michael posted the following update on his Facebook page:

"To the many people offering us kindness while we help Patrick fight his latest battle, Thank You! I do not have fb on my phone or fool with it while we are by his side in the hospital. Just home to grab a few things and head back to him. Update: Patrick is repeating an episode from 2 years ago, with sudden fractures while sleeping, followed by steadily failing lungs. He is on life support in critical condition. When the meds allow, he is lucid and interactive. When they don't he is miserable. There has been slight improvement, rather than worsening. His spirits are very down (mostly due to effects of meds and limits on what he wants to do.) He is amazingly strong and has beaten this before. We suspect a chronic lung or breathing condition has caused all of this. Tied to his bone condition. Again, Thank you for all of the kindness."

PREVIOUSLY: As of Thursday evening, Sharrock's parents say he is in now in stable condition.

Many of our viewers know or know of Patrick Sharrock.

Patrick is a sophomore at Lakeview-Fort Oglethorpe High School, and was president of the freshman class.

He is smart, and even makes his own jokes.

Patrick also has a condition called Ostegenesis Imperfecta, commonly known as brittle bone disease. Brittle bone disease makes it very easy for Patrick's bones to break, and is the reason he is confined to a wheelchair.

Patrick was taken to the Children's Hospital at Erlanger Monday for a broken femur, but was moved to the PICU Wednesday afternoon and put on a CPAP machine after he began to have issues breathing.

"Patrick is fighting with every ounce of strength he has," says Cindy and Michael Sharrock, Patrick's parents, "It is hard for him, but he will not give up."

The Sharrocks say they are waiting for Patrick's lungs to begin healing. "He has been alert and communicating," says his parents.

"He just wants to start getting better. He's the strongest person I've ever heard of."

Cindy and Michael Sharrock ask that the public keep Patrick in their prayers.

The Sharrocks were the winners of "Extreme Makeover: Home Edition" back in 2011. The 5,000 square foot home was built to accommodate Patrick's wheelchair needs.

Patrick is a star athlete with the Miracle League in Whitfield County. His nickname is "The Phoenix".
