Grundy County Sheriff's Office warns of phone scam
GRUNDY COUNTY, Tenn. —
The Grundy County Sheriff's Office is warning the community about a scam phone call making the rounds.
They say several calls from a 2-1-7 area code have been made telling callers they have an outstanding warrant for their arrest.
The only way to avoid jail time, scammers say, is to pay a fee over the phone.
Deputies say do not give them any personal information or money and hang up the phone immediately.
They say if you have a warrant, they'll make a visit in person.
