The Dalton Police Department is asking for the public’s help identifying a sharp-dressed man they say shoplifted a set of cookware from an area department store.

Bruce Frazier of the Dalton police says the incident happened on Friday afternoon around 3:32pm at the Belk department store at Walnut Square Mall.

Store surveillance captured a white male walking into the store dressed in a dark suit and blue tie.

He is average height and build with light brown or dark blonde hair.

Loss prevention told police that at 3:33 pm, the man walked back out with a boxed set of cookware on his shoulder without paying for it.

The stolen merchandise is an 11-piece set of Calphalon brand contemporary hard anodized nonstick pots and pans and other cookware. The set was valued at $500.

If you know this man or have any information about the theft, please contact Officer Annalee Scruggs at 706-278-9085, extension 9577 or by email at ascruggs@cityofdalton-ga.gov.
