We told you a few months ago - that our beloved anchor Calvin Sneed - will retire in December. He has a new endeavor. Calvin is now a published author - and wrote a book full of bridge photos. It's called "Building Bridges From our Past to the Future."

Saturday, he held his first ever book signing to celebrate the big moment.

"Once I get the picture, it's worth it," said Calvin Sneed, as he talked about the lengths he's had to go to for a good angle.

All the bridge pictures that weren't easy to capture - ended up in Calvin Sneed's book. Building Bridges From our past to the future.

At some points throughout the day Saturday, there was a line to get a signed copy of the book at Barnes & Noble.

"It's exciting," said Calvin. "I had no idea that bridges touched so many lives."

Calvin chatted with readers, and shared his expertise on the topic. He says he hope the book sends a strong message.

"These bridges get torn down," said Calvin. "They get replaced. That's not necessarily a good thing because they're part of our history - they're part of our culture."

Calvin says once he retires at the end of the year - he'll publish a second book.

Calvin's book, "Building Bridges From our Past to the Future" is sold at Barnes & Noble Booksellers at Hamilton Place Mall in Chattanooga.

He's holding another signing on June 25th in Kingsport.
